SEO 2022 task list for basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

? What is the site analysis process

The goal of the process of analyzing your site for the site optimization campaign for search engines is to find out the reasons for the failure of the campaign to perform its duty to the fullest, in general you will analyze the site and the target campaign at all levels, and then propose actionable proposals that will increase the number of search times for the site (if Implement all suggestions correctly.)

What is required is to give the site or company a direction and guide so that they can take the right steps and get better results.

It is not a complete SEO strategy

Imagine that analyzing your site for SEO is the bedrock of a successful campaign. An SEO to-do list uncovers pre-existing problems and gives you an actionable roadmap of what needs to be addressed, but once you've built the foundation, there's still a lot of strategic work to do.

This is what your SEO campaign looks like from start to finish:

The process of analyzing your site for the SEO campaign

Solve the problems discovered

Do a keyword search

Competitor analysis (extracting keywords or content ideas and linking opportunities)

Develop a SEO-friendly content strategy

Implement a SEO-friendly content strategy

Improve user experience and user interface

Get text links

This is not a step by step guide

There are many steps in each item which is why we will add a full article to show how we implement these items. The analysis process shows you where to go wrong and what you should focus on, but it is not a guide to the solution.

For example, the process we use to complete this analysis requires 33 pages to run, and a clause like “Remove Manual Action” is a process in itself.

The lsson does not take into account user errors

Knwing the error is only the first step, the second step is to do the work and here some problems may appear, for example, if you do not fully understand development and programming, your site may crash.

Or if you don't know the subtleties like the fact that you need to redirect any URL you've changed to the new one with the 301 redirect message, then hiring an expert (rather than trying to do it yourself) comes in handy.

Not a substitute for manual analysis

Lots of factors can come to light in the process, but you still need to manually analyze the site, experience, content, and text links to make your decisions.

When should you perform the analysis?

Like I mentioned, we always do a full analysis when we bring in a new client.

But we also analyze the ongoing campaign every quarter.

This is to make sure we haven't forgotten anything and to find out any new problems.

Analysis is always a good way to evaluate our performance.

There are two cases in which we analyze sites:

At the beginning of each new campaign

. Once every three months

Now that you understand the basics, let's start with the first step of SEO analysis.

The full nine steps of the analysis process

Follow these 9 steps and you'll be done. Remember, a successful SEO campaign is the product of hundreds of positive ranking factors. That's why it's important that you scrutinize every detail of your campaign. A 100% campaign isn't meant to be perfect, but that should be your goal.

Let's Begin:

Step one: What are your strategic goals?

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Objective: Determine your long-term goals for your business and your SEO campaign.

I've said this before and I'll say it again:

A SEO campaign is a means to an end.

It is nothing but a marketing channel to grow your business.

That's why your strategic goals should be your business goal through your SEO campaign.

Clear strategic goals keep your campaign focused and help you achieve your goals.

If you have had strategic goals before, now is the time to review them.

Are your goals intelligent, i.e. are they specific, can they be measured, can they be achieved, are they realistic and relevant, and are they time-framed?

You have to improve it if it is not like this.

If you don't have strategic goals for your SEO campaign, now is the time to create them.

Here are some examples of the strategic objectives of the SEO campaign using the above-mentioned specifications:

“Blue Widget will easily increase visitor searches by 50% over the next six months.”

“Blue Widget will increase the number of external links from 20 backlinks to the base domain to 1,000 backlinks over the next six months.”

“Blue Widget will easily grow its search leadership by 20% over the next 12 months.”

Your strategic goals should be a mixture of the KPIs of your SEO campaign and the KPIs of your business.

Now let's go to keyword analysis.

Step Two: Keyword Analysis

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Objective: To determine the worthiness of the targeted keyword strategy , and to find untapped keywords that can be an easy win.

You need to retest your current set of keywords before first jumping into the analysis.

What is the ideal length for an article to rank well in search engines? | seo

The first thing you ask is:

Are you targeting the right keywords?

Often times companies target prominent keywords.

They think they can win with the main keywords...but they often fail.

Good analysis will help you determine the quality of your keywords .

More often than not, I find the client is targeting long-term, less competitive keywords.

My team and I refer to these keywords as 'easy win'.

It's a good idea to do a review of your existing keywords.

You should do this every three months.

It is always better to focus your resources on keywords that are doing well.

Don't waste your resources on many keywords.

Isolate the winning words alone and focus on them.

But you may be wondering now:

How do I know I'm targeting the right keywords?

Visualize your keywords as if they were your goals.

Each keyword you decide to target is a goal you want to achieve for your SEO campaign.

This means that you need to use the SMART goals specification.

You have to choose a specific set of tags to target.

A list of a thousand keywords is not a fixed list.

Choose 10, 20 or 100 tags depending on your budget and resources.

can be measured

You have to measure the performance of your keywords.

There are some SEO campaigns saying that keywords should not be tracked anymore.

I agree that tracking keywords without tracking other important KPIs is not effective.

However, keeping track of your primary keywords is an excellent way to see how Google rates your site.

It's also a way to measure the impact of your link acquisition.

To measure the performance of your keywords, use Ahrefs.

can be achieved

Are you targeting keywords beyond the capacity of your site?

The truth is: New sites suffer from keyword competition.

Because the sites that rank at the top of the competition for keywords are reliable and have a long life.

These same sites will be more reliable than your own because they have been gaining text links for years.

Since they own the keywords, this means that they have a bigger budget than yours, and this will allow them to buy reliable link placements to maintain their site.

You must be realistic.

If your site is new, you should target long-tail keywords.

Don't let your ego determine the keywords you need.

Not saying that you are cocky.

I say this because I let my ego define my keywords in the past.

I said to myself something like this:

"Dude, I'm very good at SEO campaigns and I can rank first in anything."

So I was thinking.

Moral of the story: Don't let your ego control your campaign.

Be realistic and use the data to determine your course.

very related to the subject

This item should be clear, your keywords should be relevant to your business.

framed by time

How long do you think it will take you to rank up your current set of keywords?

You have to set a time limit.

Remember, improving your site's performance in a keyword is the goal, you should try to achieve this goal as quickly as possible.

smart goalsIt is only the first step to validating your keywords.

Now you have to analyze the competition for these keywords.

Step Three: Competitor Analysis

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

The goal: to validate your keywords and find missed linking opportunities.

There are some goals to analyze your competitors:

To see if there is too much competition for the keyword.

To find opportunities to get new tags.

To see what kind of content the keyword is doing well (so you can generate content).

To find linking opportunities.

to remember:

You need to analyze your competition to validate your chosen keywords.

You should ask yourself:

"Are my keywords too ambitious?"

or, “Are my keywords too conservative?”

We divide the analysis of our competitors into two parts.

The first section is only a quick analysis of the page authority and domain authority in search engine results pages.

For this you will need the Moz Toolbar.

Let's say we want to rank up the word "marketing automation".

Type “marketing automation” into Google and check the results.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

To see the sites that have a ranking of less than 50 for the domain of authority, in this case there is one site for the word “marketing automation” with a domain of authority less than 50.

Usually, this process is the fastest way to remove keywords from your list.

to remember:

The competition is relative.

For example, it would be foolish to target the word “marketing automation” if your site is new, but if you have a built site that has my influence, then it might be an appropriate word to target.

The second analysis is more in depth because we are trying to find linking opportunities

I won't go too deep into this, but use Ahrefs or Majestic to analyze your competitors' cookies.

Are there dangling fruits or 'easy' gains?

Now let me show you how you can find the fruits that are droopy and easy to pick.

We will use SEMRush and Google Search Console for this.

1. Go to Google Search Console and click on “Search Traffic” and “Search Analytics”.

2. Select “Impressions” and “Position.”

3. Then sort the results by “Position.” The lowest ranked position will be at the top.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

These are the dangling fruits that you can target.

If your site doesn't rank by any keyword, you'll need to use SEMRush to find dangling fruits.

• Go to SEMRush

• Enter a competitor URL

• Go to “Organic Research” and “Positions”

• Sort the keyword list to show the least searched keywords

I prefer to start with the least searched keywords because they are the easiest to rank for. Here are some of the dross I found after digging through's visitor data:

Now let me show you how to do technical analysis.

Step Four: Technical Analysis

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Objective: To identify technical problems that harm the user experience and the performance of your site on search engines.

Technical issues can affect the performance of your site's ranking on search engines.

The good news is that you have tools like Screaming Frog SEO Spiderstand next to you.

These tools will help you identify many common problems.

Let's Begin:

How fast is your site loading?

How quickly your site loads affects the user experience in a positive or negative way.

That is why we put this item at the top of our technical analysis list.

Use PingdomGoogle's Site Speed ToolFor a basis for comparison.

Any site that takes more than 3 seconds to load has room for improvement, and if you can load your site in less than 1 second that's perfect, but it's a challenge.

Is the site compatible with phones?

This is a no brainer but you need to check if your site is mobile compatible or not.

Google considers this a strong ranking factor, so don't underestimate it.

Use Google's tool to check mobile compatible sitesto perform the analysis.

The solution is very simple here:

If your site is not compatible with phones, make it compatible with them.

We will be adding a few more articles on this for further assistance:

Is there a keyword decomposition?

One of the most important factors to look for in the analysis process is keyword decomposition.

Keyword disassembly occurs when two pages are competing for the same keyword.

This can confuse Google and force it to decide which of the two pages are "best" for search results.

It is always better to guide Google than to let him make the decisions.

You have to get rid of keyword disassemblyto achieve this goal.

There is a form of keyword disassembly which is the most common:

When you optimize the linking of the homepage and subpage to search engines for the same keyword.

This is more common at the local level.

Let's say this is a site for a local personal injury crime attorney in Chicago.

The home page title will look like this:

• “Personal Injury Crimes Attorney in Chicago | Fantastic law firm”

At the same time, the client will also have an optimized subpage like this:

• “Best Personal Injury Lawyer in Chicago | Fantastic law firm”

These things should be avoided.

Select one page to optimize for “Chicago personal injury crime attorney” and cancel the competition page optimization.

Another keyword deconstruction issue you need to look out for is your blog.

There is nothing wrong with writing about the same topics more than once but if excessive, it can cause some confusion.

Google will struggle to determine the most reliable page for that keyword.

Most importantly, Google wants you to write comprehensive, original, and well-thought-out contentThey are not short articles that do not fully explain the topic.

There are exceptions to the rule, but short content should be avoided in most works.

Remember that optimized, powerful, and well-developed content does better for search engines and will result in better user interaction.

On the contrary, posting short and incomplete content is likely to result inThis will lead to keyword deconstruction, and Google may interpret your activity after a while as keyword manipulation.

If this happens, the pandas algorithm will stop your site.

With that, let me show you how you can quickly identify keyword deconstruction:

Open the Screaming Frog SEO Spider app.

Enter your location and start the scan:

Go to “Page Titles”:

Enter one of your keywords into the search bar (this will show you all pages competing for that keyword).

Search your page titles and identify pages that may be competing for the same keywords.

Are there problems with redirection?

There are four types of redirects that can harm SEO performance:

1. 302 . redirects

2. Redirect Strings

3. A non-preferred version of the range and not a preferred 301ing

4. Unlocked version of the domain and not 301ing for the secure version

5. Unnecessary 301 Redirect Messages

Let's start with the 302 redirect.

302 . redirects

302 redirects are "temporary" redirects and do not pass authority. 302 redirects must be changed to 301 to pass link authority.

To see if you have any 302 redirects, open Screaming Frog SEO Spider.

• Enter the target URL and start the scan

• Go to the “Response Codes” tab

• Click on the “Filter” drop-down menu and select “Redirection 3xx”

• Click “Export” to export all 302 . redirects

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

redirect strings

Redirect chains occur when a series of redirects are connected to each other.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Breaking the chain will send all powers to the final destination page (instead of the partial authority).

It would look like this when fixing the redirect string:

Here's how to find redirect threads with Screaming Frog SEO Spider:

• Go to “Configuration” and click on “Spider”

• Click on “Advanced”, select “Always Follow Redirects”, then click on “Ok”

• Enter the target URL and start the scan

• After the scan is completed, go to “Reports” and click on “Redirect Chains”

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Does the non-preferred version of the domain redirect with a 301 message to the preferred version?

All website owners must select the version of their site that they want to display to their users.

Some people prefer “www” while others prefer www-free domains, be aware that whatever you choose will not have an impact on your SEO performance.

Google treats them the same way, so it's a question of which one you prefer.

Problems arise if you do not forward the non-preferred domain to the preferred domain.

For example, let's say you decide to choose "".

By doing this, www becomes your preferred domain.

Now, a domain without www becomes your non-preferred domain and vice versa.

You should redirect with a 301 message to your non-preferred domain, if you don't you will end up with two duplicate sites and lose authority.

I've found that sites built on custom platforms suffer from this problem.

The developers are minimizing the repercussions of keeping two copies of the site alive.

Most likely they will not redirect the non-preferred version of the domain with a 301 message to the preferred version.

The bottom line is that if you don't redirect you'll get two duplicate sites.

I use this toolTo see if the redirect was performed correctly.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Does the insecure version of the site redirect with a 301 message to the secure version?

Let's just say that moving your site to an SSL certificate wasn't good.

Many sites make the right decision to secure their sites with a certificate.

But many struggle to complete certification.

Many clients forget to redirect the unsecured site (http) with a 301 message to the secure site (https), this has the same effect as not redirecting the non-preferred domain to the preferred.

Defining this problem is simple:

• Go to the target URL:

• In the address bar of your browser, remove the “s” from http and hit enter.

It should redirect you back to the secure version.

If it doesn't, you need to fix it!

You can also use the above tool to check as well.

Is the site indexed well?

Your site can only get visitors if your pages are indexed in Google, which is why it is always a good idea to make sure that your entire site is indexed well.

The best place to start is the robots.txt file on your site.

robots.txt file

Sometimes website owners mistakenly prevent search engines from crawling their sites.

That's why you should audit your robots.txt file to make sure that search engines are archiving your site well.

The command you want to search for in your robots.txt file is “disallow”.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

If you use this incorrectly, it may prevent search engines from crawling your site.

The command to look for is “Disallow: /” – this instructs search engine spiders not to crawl your site.

Your site should have a sitemap, this helps with the indexing process.

If you use WordPress then Yoast will automatically create one for you.

If you are not using Yoast, install the XML Sitemap plugin.

For those using dedicated or non-Wordpress websites, you will have to follow the traditional path.

“site:” Search

Go to Google and type "site:".

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

This will show you how well your site will be indexed.

If your site doesn't show up as a first result, you probably have a penalty.

Or you are preventing the search engine from crawling your site.

Is there duplicate content?

Your site can contain duplicate content and this can result in your site being subject to a Panda penalty.

Online stores are more prone to content duplication issues because they copy manufacturer product descriptions.

To stop this they will also use information from the META tags to cut cookies for those pages.

This creates significant duplicate content.

Let me show you the issues with duplicate META data first:

Duplicate META data

Duplicate META data is most prevalent on e-commerce websites.

This is because many e-commerce sites have many pages with similar products.

As a result they get lazy and paste similar META descriptions on the pages.

This is not a good habit.

If your online store has many similar pages then you should consider merging them, there is no reason to have multiple pages of different colors or sizes for the same product.

Once you solve this problem, you then need to write unique descriptions for each page.

Yes, that's right, every single page.

You should strive to have unique META data and unique content on every page on your site.

This will require a lot of effort and resources, but it is worth it in the end.

Remember: you don't have to complete it in one day.

If you only optimize 10 pages per day, you will have 3,650 pages optimized within a year.

To find duplicate META data, you can use Screaming Frog SEO Spider

Enter your URL and start the scan

Go to “Meta Description”, in the “Filter” dropdown menu, select “Duplicate”, and “Export”.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Now that you have identified all the duplicate META data you need to find the duplicate content at the page level.

To perform this task you will need to use Siteliner.

This tool will show you which pages share the same or very similar content.

Go to and enter your target site. Click on “Duplicate Content” and see which pages are suffering from it.

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Keep in mind that this tool is not always accurate. For example, you may not know that you have not indexed category pages, so these pages are likely to be classified as duplicate content so you have to judge for yourself.

Are there 404 error pages (with equal link)?

Not all 404 pages are created equal.

First, let me dispel the common myth that “all 404 errors are harmful to better SEO”.

this is not true.

404 pages are an effective tool for telling search engines that the page no longer exists.

When a search engine like Google finds a 404 page, it will remove that page from the index.

For intentional 404 errors this is exactly what you want.

Think about it: Do you want someone to find your dead 404 page through a Google search?

of course not.

This is the reason why Google removed it because it is not useful to the user.

After dispelling this myth, there are actually 404 errors that can harm your site's performance:

The 404 page contains text links.

These types of 404 pages force leaks from your site.

What you want to do is restore those backlinks by redirecting 404 pages with a 301 message to a related page on your site.

If there is no relevant page, redirect it to the home page.

To find 404 errors, I recommend you to use Google Search Console:

Go to "Crawl" and "Crawl Errors". Click on the Not Found tab to see 404 errors for your site:

Is your site structure effective to improve your site's linking to search engines?

Many audits bypass the structure of the site, but this is a huge mistake.

Designers often don't include SEO when designing a site.

Oddly enough, this isn't always a bad thing, because many companies build their site based on what they think the user wants.

You should always be user-centric while building your strategy to improve your site's SEO.

But you still need to be direct and satisfy the search engine at the same time.

The robust site architecture satisfies both users and search engines.

When examining the structure of the site, ask the following questions:

• Are the transportation links organized or scattered?

• Do internal links use active anchor text?

• Can you improve navigation to make it easier for users and search engines?

Is the link structure optimized for linking the site to search engines?

We always analyze the link structure of the pages during the review to ensure that they are appropriate to improve the site's relevance to search engines.

But we also be careful at this point.

The link structure should not be changed if the customer's site is performing well.

The reason is that you have to redirect the old link with a 301 message to the new address.

301 redirects are intermittent and will not always send trust and authority from the old link.

This means that you could end up losing ratings for a long time.

Changing your link to a more optimized version is likely to help your site cleaner in the long run.

You just have to be willing to lose some traffic from organic search engines up front, or you can just avoid changing links at all.

Now, if the customer site is not categorized for any keyword, we will always suggest changing the links structure (if the structure is bad).

Use your judgment and remember that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Over-optimized links

In an attempt to manipulate the search engine some customers are stuffing their links with keywords, keyword stuffing on your site is never a good practice, in fact it is likely to hurt your performance more than it helps.

Here is an example of a link full of keywords that we encounter often:

You will notice that “cool widgets” are present in the link three times, whether that is intentional or not, it will harm the performance of the page.

I recommend removing the "cool-widgets" subfolder so that the link looks like this:

Are the internal links added correctly?

Ineffective or unstrategic internal linking can confuse search engines, internal links should be clear and should use exactly the same anchor text.

If you have a page about blue widgets, blue widgets should be the internal link text.

From my point of view, this seems like a very simple concept.

Unfortunately, I see this problem recur over and over again when we audit sites.

Finding ineffective internal links is not easy...

You have to look page by page to find out and fix it.

This is one of the most time consuming SEO tweaks you will encounter.

To avoid this from happening, just make sure you always use good practices.

Most internal link text must use an exact or partial match link text.

Step 5: Internal page analysis

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

The goal: to ensure that each landing page is effectively optimized for keywords .

All analyzes must check the quality of the content and improve each page.

Strong content without powerful optimization will not work and weak content with strong optimization will not work either.

You need strong content and effective optimization to increase search engine visitors.

The first page-level optimization question you should ask is:

Does this page meet the search intent?

Satisfying your search intent is critical for a good Google ranking, it doesn't matter the length of your content what matters is how satisfied you are with your search intent.

The next steps are to run the page through Copyscape.

Was the content copied?

I'm not running the target page through Copyscape because I think my client is a liar.

It's because there are some people on the internet who will steal the content.

All you have to do is submit a DMCA report to GoogleThey will remove the content from the index.

After running each target page via Copyscape, we next check the basics.

Is the keyword in the title?

Your target keyword for the page should be in the title. The keyword must appear only once.

That's it!

Is the keyword in the META description ?

Make sure the target keyword is in the META description, don't fill it in there more than once.

Is the target keyword present in the first sentences?

Your keyword should appear once at the beginning of the content, to reinforce the page's relevance.

Is the URL optimized for SEO and is it clean?

The landing page should include the target keyword in the URL and the URL should be short and clean.

Does the ALT tag on the first image of the page contain the target keyword ?

All of your ALT tags must be filled in, but your page keyword must appear in the ALT tag of the first image.

Does the last sentence of the content include the target keyword ?

The last sentence or conclusion is your chance to solidify the fit of the page. Make sure to include your keyword in it.

Are there internal links? If so, are they positioned correctly?

As I mentioned before, if you have internal links, make sure they use exactly the same anchor text.

That's all you need to analyze to optimize the page, now let me show you how you need to check your content.

On-Page SEO A complete explanation of internal SEO

Step Six: Content Analysis

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

Objective: To determine if the current content strategy is working or not, and what needs to be improved to get further improvement from the content.

Your content analysis should explore targeted keyword pages and published content.

Content analysis is the most time consuming part of this process.

This is because it is the most important part of the entire analysis process.

All other parts of your SEO campaign can go well, but if your content is bad, the campaign won't give you any results.

You need an outside point of view

It is crucial that you bring in a third party to analyze your content strategy.

Because you need an outside point of view, it is difficult to examine and criticize your content yourself because you will be biased.

You need an outside party to tell you the truth.

Most companies do not have effective content strategies.

In fact, most of them have no "strategy" at all.

Here are the questions you need to ask while analyzing your content:

Is your content unique and original?

This makes sense as your site's content must be unique and original.

This means using your creative mind to come up with great ideas!

No vomit litter, the extra effort to create something original is worth it.

Is your content useful and informative?

In addition to your content being original, you also need to make sure that it is useful and informative.

This means that he or she must inform, guide, or solve a problem that your ideal customer is facing.

You should always think of your ideal customer when creating content.

Your site content is not there to impress your co-workers.

Your content is there to serve and help potential customers.

Is your content better than that of your competitors?

There is no point in creating content unless you think it will be better than your current search engine ranking.

Every piece of content should have an intent to beat your competition.

Otherwise you are wasting your time.

Is your content interactive?

Your users need to feel like you're talking to them directly. First person pronouns should become your favorite words.

Is your information accurate?

Do not falsify facts or statistics or falsify information.

Is your content long enough?

Longer content works better at Google and it's proven here.

You can also search and see this explained in search results pages on search engines.

Are there grammatical and/or spelling errors?

I've said this many times, don't write poorly, use Hemingway's editor if your writing is less than excellent.

Are there broken links?

Google hates broken links in content because they harm user experience, make sure to check your pages to make sure links are working, use this free broken link checker to find broken links on your site.

Do you have many ads?

Excessive use of ads can take away your content, get distracted, and make users hate your site.

When users hate your site, Google will hate it too.

If you use ads, don't let them overwhelm the content or else the panda will visit your site.

Do you review your blog comments?

Spammers love to inject bad links into blog comments.

That's why you need to make sure your account is well supervised.

You don't want to be complicit in the guilt, so be sure to keep the comments section clean.

These questions are the first step to determining whether or not your content strategy is working.

The ultimate indicator of the performance of your content will come from real user experience data.

SEO Tasks Step Seven: Analyze User Experience

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

The goal: to see how users interact with your content and with the site as a whole.

It is impossible to know what every user thinks about your site.

But fortunately you can get an overall picture of the user experience based on the data inside Google Analytics.

There are a few data that you need to examine in analyzing your site's user experience:

bounce rate

You'll likely be wondering, "What is a good bounce rate?"

Unfortunately, there is no clear answer.

Bounce rate is relative and depends on the type of site.

For example, a site that specializes in “funny cat pictures” is likely to have a high bounce rate.

That's because people go to the page, laugh, and leave.

Sites like mine will have lower bounce rates because people will want to read and learn more.

However, the bounce rate between 60% - 80% is considered constant.

80% - 90% rate is sufficient to consider the problem.

If it is above 90%, it should be at the top of the priority list.

The average time a user spends on the site

The longer your users stay on your site, the more chances you have of converting them into regular customers.

Like the bounce rate, the average time a user spends on a site is relative.

If the average time a user spends on the site is less than 1 minute, you definitely need to check for the problem.

As a general rule, users will spend more time on your site if there is a lot of content to consume.

For example, readers spend an average of 2:52 minutes on Gotch SEO.

If that's less than a minute, I'll start questioning my content strategy and my site in general.

There is one thing that will quickly repel users:

Lack of quality content.

The drop in average time a visitor spends on a site often hits local businesses for precisely this reason.

That's because anyone searching for a "plumber in St. Louis" is likely looking for their price tag.

They will jump from show to show in search of the best deal.

The best way to combat this problem at the local level is to produce more useful content.

You should focus on educating potential local customers.

Education and transparency lead to trust.

Confidence leads to sale.

Focus on giving more value than your competition.

This will improve your bounce rates and force your users to stay on your site longer.

Think of it this way: If someone wanted to reach you, could they learn more in 30 seconds or 3 minutes?

Yes, I am very meticulous, but this is necessary.

The longer users stay on your site and absorb your content, the more they will feel that they “know you”.

achieve goals

Goal competition tracking is the most important metric in Google Analytics.

The only reason your business should have a website is to get clients or complete goals.

It doesn't matter if your bounce rate is low or people stay on your site for hours...if visitors don't convert into leads, sales or email subscribers you're wasting your time.

The goal of improving other metrics is to earn more money!

Remember that SEO is just a means to an end, SEO in itself does not make money.

You can earn money by selling.

You can have the best SEO plan on the planet but if you can't sell it won't matter.

The word “sell” will have a different meaning for everyone.

But there is one thing that every online business has in common:

You must sell in writing or through video If you skip this step no one will buy your products or no one will become your customer.

However, when the targets are poor, we immediately focus on the sales strategy at the customer's site.

• Is it easy for potential clients to contact you?

• Is there enough information about your service?

• Are you showing enough social contact?

checkout pages

Identifying which pages users leave often is the first step to fixing the problem, that's obvious, you should analyze the page that is frequently checked out.

You have to ask the simple question “Why do they leave this particular page more than others?”

Believe it or not, it's not always a bad thing to have a high page exit rate.

Sometimes the content does its job for the reader and forces them to step out and take action.

Don't always think that users leave a particular page because they hate it.

If the content solves the user's problem and leaves the page, then you have done your job.

There is one very important thing to keep in mind when checking the exit rate within Google Analytics.

Don't look at the total number of exits.

Total exit times will always be higher on pages that get more traffic.

The number you should look at is "% Exit".

Sort your data by highest to lowest percentage.

The “high” exit rate is more than 80% and the “normal” exit rate is between 50 and 65%.

The #1 problem that will force people to leave the page at a high frequency is that the content did not solve their problem or answer the questions they had.

There are other factors that may force people to leave a page like the design, but the content is always the reason.

Go to the page with the highest exit rate and ask these questions:

• Does this page completely solve a problem or answer a question?

• Are there still some questions left unanswered?

• Is the content readable?

• Are there too many large blocks of text?

• Are there too few pictures?

• Are there broken images?

• Is the page loading slowly?

• Are there distractions such as ads that might send the user off your site?

• Are you setting external links to “open in a new window” (if not, you should do so)?

These questions should be more than enough to get to the heart of the problem, do this process for every page with a high exit rate.

return visitors

The number of visitors who return to your site is a strong positive signal from the user.

This means that your site or content is worth seeing again.

Returning visitors are also good from the point of view of converting them into customers as this gives you more opportunities to convert them into leads or email subscribers.

If you don't have a high rate of return visitors this could be a sign of a lack of content, or that your site has one or more technical or content related issues I described above that are frustrating users.

Brand searches

As with returning visitors, brand searches are a strong indicator of people's interest in your site and brand.

If you produce great content and your site is built with users in mind, people will want to come back to your site, that means they will go to Google and search for your brand.

To see how successful you are currently, you will need to use Google Search Console.

Go to “Search Traffic” and click on “Search Analytics”, filter by “Clicks” so that the search query with the most clicks is on top.

Your brand name should be one of the most important queries.

Social Signals

Social cues by themselves are not strong.

But, if you combine it with all the other positive user metrics, your site will get a whirlwind of positive ranking signals.

Getting real social mentions should be a priority for your business, the only way to get them is to create great content and satisfy your users. You can also consider using social locker plugins if you are really struggling to get by.

Now it's time to take a look at the link's profile.

here we are:

The eighth step in SEO tasks: link analysis

SEO tasks, SEO 2022 task list for the basic analysis of your website optimization campaign with search engines

The goal: to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your cookie.

As you know, text links can create or break a SEO campaign and this is why we work on auditing customer cookie analysis,

We use Ahrefs, Majestic, Open Site Explorer, and Google Search Console to analyze links.

Now you might be wondering: What are we looking for?

We're looking at a few different factors:

link link

Correlation is the chief when it comes to link building.

This is where I always start link checking.

Are text links back to the site relevant?

Text links don't have to be 100% relevant but the majority should be.

To quickly determine the suitability of a customer's cookie, we export their links from Ahrefs and use bulk checking on Majestic.

When you export from Ahrefs, be sure to export the reference ranges like this:

Now you're going to take those reference ranges and use Majestic's comprehensive scan to see the Topical Trust Flow Topics.

Although the Topical Trust Flow Topic Scale is not perfect, it is the only usable Fit Scale.

Manually checking the relevance of each linked site would be a waste of time.

The goal of this exercise is to get an overall picture of the relevance of the domains associated with the customer's site.

Go to “Tools” > “Link Map Tools” > “Bulk Backlinks”.

Put the reference ranges into the bulk checker and export the results. Sort your CSV file based on Topical Trust Flow Topics.

Identify link sources that are completely off the wall.

If you are a lawyer and have a text link from a domain containing Topical Trust Flow Topics for “pets,” you should be concerned.

Mark all backlinks that are not relevant, this does not mean that you will remove them.

It's just a way for you to know it's there, that way you can come back to it if your site gets penalized.

link reliability

After link relevance, link reliability comes second.

In fact, pure reliability can sometimes mask a lack of relevance.

I prefer relevance before reliability because I think it keeps your site more secure than algorithmic updates.

But each of them is important!

There are several ways to see how "reliable" your text links are.

You can do a thorough check with Majestic and Ahrefs.

Ahrefs “Domain Rating” (DR) is an accurate measure of a site's reliability.

It is more accurate than Big Authority and Domain Authority because it is updated frequently.

Data from Open Site Explorer is refreshed at a slow and inaccurate pace most of the time.

you did not believe me?

Open Site Explorer awards 25 domain authority and claims the site only has 30 root domains link…

Ahrefs 562 displays their link root domain and only shows about 80% of the text links that already owns.

With that said, you can use Open Site Explorer for cross-validation, but don't rely on its metrics alone.

Another metric that is almost impossible to "play with" is the SEMRush score.

This is because it is based on real organic search engine rankings.

SEM Rush uses its own algorithm to determine the "value" of organic visitor traffic.

It's not perfect, but it's a metric I rely on daily to determine the quality of my hookup opportunities.

Use all the metrics at your disposal to measure the quality of your existing text links or opportunities.

link diversity

Diversifying your backlinks makes your profile “natural”.

The different 'types' of backlinks include:

• contextual links

• Site-wide footer/sidebar links

• Directory Links

• Resource page links or resources

• Specialized Profile Links

• Forum links

• Related Blog Comment Links

In addition to the text link "type", you also want to have a variety of follow and unfollow domains.

In this part of the analysis, just ask the simple question:

“Is my cookie diverse enough?”

link target

Another important link factor that you need to check is the ratio of homepage links to internal links.

If you use a content-focused SEO approach, the majority of backlinks should go to deep pages.

No matter what approach you use, it is always a good idea to distribute text links across the entire site.

This will build the site's overall authority and improve your chances of seeing SEO results.

Diversify the link text

Body text abuse is rampant and that's why we always check the proportions.

The first percentage we care about is the customer's percentage of the exact match body.

Next, we want to see what percentage of the body is branded.

If EMA is outpacing branded links, there must be a change in strategy.

As you know, the bulk of your link text should be branding text.

EMA should be used sparingly and sparingly in between because it is a strong signal of spam to Google.

If the customer suffers from overly optimized anchor text, there are a few solutions:

• Create new text links with branded anchor text to compensate for over-optimization

• Consider changing some of your EMA to branded anchor text

Total Referral Domains

The more unique referral domains a site links to, the better.

The analysis we do here is nothing more than a comparison with the best competitors.

For example, how many referral domains do they have a link to compared to their competitors?

The solution is simple here:

Get more relevant and high quality text links from unique domains.

Historical link speed

Has the link speed remained constant throughout the life of the site? Or was it irregular?

The dramatic decreases in correlation loss are questionable.

Text links from real websites rarely drop.

Text links drop from synthetic sites when link providers stop paying for their hosting or don't renew the domain.
